I'm very excited to share this particular engagement session for a couple of reasons. One, I am completely in love with the photos and two, Amy and Brandon were the winners of the first ever Brian Evans Photography Wedding Giveaway. This shoot could not have been more amazing and I had so much fun photographing these two! It quickly became clear that the locations Amy chose were quite special to them so I asked her send over a quick write up about where we spent our day.
From Amy...
Although we live in Denver now, Los Angeles will always be near and dear to our hearts. When we first began dating in 2011, we were both living in Santa Monica, and loved to spend our weekends together exploring the gorgeous mountains and beaches of LA. Our engagement shoot was very special to us since we were able to return to two of our favorite spots where we have so many treasured memories together.
On many Sunday mornings when we wanted to be active, but also enjoy one another’s company, we would head to Temescal Canyon and get in a challenging hike, stopping along the trail to enjoy the views of the ocean, and the unexpected waterfall. After our hike we typically would browse through the local farmers market nearby to pick up fresh ingredients to make dinner later that evening. I still can’t think of a better day!
When we wanted to enjoy a relaxing afternoon together we would often pack a picnic, drive up the coast, and find one of the smaller, more private Malibu beaches. Dume Cove, beneath Point Dume was one of the gems we had the luck of finding after walking along Zuma Beach, up a hilly beach trail and down a long narrow staircase to a nearly private rocky beach framed by dramatic cliffs.
We had an amazing time returning to these two spots and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our engagement than by reliving some of our most cherished moments from early in our relationship.
